Week 28- "Your Portuguese Is A Lot Like Mexican"

Sorry I didn't send out last weeks until today so now you get 2 emails from me!

This week has been so full of meetings!! Tuesday we had Mission Leadership Council where I got to see Sister Brooks and Sister Perez!!! Afterward we went to the Noguiera's for dinner and had yummy fish tacos!! By the way.. little side note.. I ate 10 fish tacos, actually 8 fish tacos and 2 salmon tacos (if you really wanted to know). They were little street tacos so really it was like 5 but, I'm very proud and ashamed of myself all at the same time! Whoops! Dang it. But it was worth it! They always make the best food:)

Wednesday we had interviews with President, planning with the Zone Leaders and then Thursday and Friday we had Zone Training Meetings in Price and here and Payson.

Saturday we had exchanges with some of our sisters who are out in Wellington and I got to be with the fun Sister Risbon-Josephson!! Never a dull moment with her. That afternoon we went to an activity for a ward we work with and of course i couldn't help myself. I had to play kickball! Yes, I did it in a skirt!

Also a little miracle this week that just reminded me that Heavenly Father loves us enough to help us in the smallest of things!!! I lost a ring that was given to me and Sis Brooks. We are alternating wearing it. I felt so bad but I really didn't think I would be able to find it again. It must've slipped off at an activity with a ward and I didn't notice until I was taking off my rings later that night and was going to go to bed. I couldn't go to sleep and was searching everywhere. I made a list of places where it could be and started looking the next day. I just had a pit in my stomach about it and I couldn't stop thinking about it. After ward council we went to a field where it might've been and I think we were there for at least 45 mins just looking but nothing. I checked pretty much our whole driveway, asked brother Manuta (a ward mission leader that was there the day before at the activity), asked some of the sisters that were with us the day before, and I looked through my bag 3 times.

Sunday afternoon after church, I really felt like we should go back to the field and try again because I couldn't stop thinking about the ring. Thanks to Sis Shirley being so loving she said “sure!” and we went over to the field. We looked for about 20 minutes and no luck. This old lady had been watching us from her car and soon enough got out, asked if we needed help and also what we were looking for. We said we were ok and that it was a ring. She told us that she probably wouldn't be too much help anyways (she said she was 86 years old) since she wouldn't have been able to see too much. She told us she would say a little prayer for us, to add to the prayers that had already been said by us two. Not even kidding you 20 seconds later sister Shirley yells “I found it!!!” i ran over to her and gave her the biggest hug ever! I could literally feel the weight being taken off my shoulders! It was the best feeling in the world! We ran to the lady and told her! She was so happy and went on to tell us about a similar experience she had when she was younger.
Prayers do work and God does listen, don't ever doubt that! I love the little and simple truths that this gospel teaches. Like how important it is to pray to our Heavenly Father each and every day. He loves us and want only the best for us.

Love y'all!!!

Con amor,
Hermana de Benito
