Week 10- General Conference

Well this week has been fast and it feels like it was just yesterday when I was writing a letter!

Monday- hna Brooks and I went to an investigators house who's had so many problems in his life in he past, soon to learn that, that morning their ram truck had been stolen! They had smashed the window, taken the oil plug out and had driven it around with no oil, the truck was towed back to his house but won't start... so we said we would help him as much as we could. We went to another investigators house that knew how to work on cars and he agreed to help! The people in Spanish fork are awesome!

Tuesday- we were able to help our investigator more by getting some food for him since he is living in debt right now. Later that night as we were driving home we saw a familiar car driving in front of us. We felt prompted to follow him soon to find out it was the mechanic investigator we had going to help out! We learned that our investigators truck was done for and he had 2 options of either buying a new truck or getting a new engine which would be around $14,000- $20,000! I couldn't believe it and I felt so awful because he does not have the money. But we know he can find a way and the Lord only gives us so much we can handle.

Wednesday- went on exchanges! I was in a trio and got to ride bikes! It was so much fun and it was such a beautiful day out. So we learned as we were at a service project working on a members lawn that the beautiful trees that bloom white flowers here in Spanish fork smell terrible (I got a picture of them in my folder this week)! I also learned how important it is to not judge others!! As I hear more stories I really cannot believe people treat others this way... we met a woman who is a single mother of her one daughter and is very stable and so so kind! We learned that they were both baptized in the Church but she can't remember the last time she went. I politely asked why and she told me that someone had told her that she could not be an eternal family because they didn't have a father figure in their home. I was speechless! That's so wrong and not ok. We are here on this earth to be kind, help others and come closer to Christ. Never to judge or say something as awful as that to someone else. The mother told me that since then they had moved and we're not going to that church anymore so I invited for her to try and go to church again because this gospel is not about the people it's about the fullness amd truth of our our Lord and Savior. I feel so bad when I learn of people falling away when others are not kind. We need to always be kind.

Thursday- nothing too much happened, we did have fun at lunch with one of the senior couples in this area and the zone leaders. We got to play with instruments and sister Nielson always makes the best lunches for us. They are he best and are so invested in the missionary work always finding new ways to invite others to Christ:)

Friday- we had district training and we made new goals for the month of April!! I'm so excited for Easter:)
We learned power ranger fight moves from some boys at dinner, I've been well trained so if anything happens I'll be able to get away! We met 2 girls that were hanging out on the sidewalk and one of them, as we were talking said "I have a bunch of questions, can you answer them?" When you are a missionary and someone asks you this question... it is literally he BEST thing ever! This is what we're meant to do and no one takes us up on it. Like Dallin H. Oaks has said before "Ask the missionaries!" Hahha  Later that night we did service for some investigators who are have a reception in their backyard and need some help preparing some food. It was a ton of fun:)

Saturday- General Conference weekend! YAY!! I had the awesome opportunity to go to the actual general conference session Saturday morning! It was amazing and it was very intresting just seeing some of the protesters outside... they become very creative with what they say about us. I also saw some friends from Texas there! I was so happy to see them! I couldn't believe it:)

The talks were beautiful and it was really cool to see President Nelson talk again after having just met him about a month before. They are just so inspired and the fact that they never are given a topic to talk about just shows you even more that they are inspired men! The rest of the day was filled with contacting and meeting new people.

Sunday- well Sunday was another awesome day of general conference and I HIGHLY recommend everyone to watch at lds.org!

Also there is a new Easter video that I love so so much! I shared it with a 7 year old yesterday and he loved it too. You could see the spirit beam through him as we talked about how cool our church was and how we teach about Jesus every Sunday
I love his gospel and I love my Lord and Savior, the Prince of Peace with all of my heart.

Love you guys.
