Week 19- "Hmm Juan Garcia... It's Funny Because No 'Juan" Was Home

Monday through Wednesday were pretty much the only busy days and the rest were FULL of service!!

Monday
Such a busy day. I felt like we had no time for anything. Woke up and played tennis with the grandpas again for two hours. There was a young woman that is really struggling in the ward. She is dealing with pretty bad depression and anxiety. After church, Sister Brooks and I sat with her in the chapel and just talked for a few minutes. She completely broke down and opened up to us which I was grateful for. Sister Brooks asked if she would let us get her lunch and hangout Monday, and she said YES! We got her Chick-fil-A and met her at this little spot on 2300 E that overlooks the valley and we had a picnic. It was super nice. Michelle enjoyed it a lot. We took pictures and just talked. She thanked us at the end and we walked her home. After, we had a zone activity at canyon view park down by the golf course. We all sort of just hung out and signed transfer journals. Eventually the diva elders were complaining about the heat, so we went to the riverbottoms chapel. Sister Brooks had a guitar so Elder Pepper, Elder Giwagiw started jamming. Then we ran home, changed, and headed to Walmart so hna Brooks could buy a tote to put her winter stuff. At 6:00 we went back to the park for a Neilsen family bbq. Super fun. We met some cool people. Then we went home, loaded my winter stuff, and headed to drop it off at sister Brooks aunts house.

Tuesday
Sister Brooks said bye to the Colling's. Also went by to say goodbye to David, Beth and Drifter. We all just sat outside on the porch and talked for a while. Drifter is friends with an old man that use to be a mission president in Tallahassee. That man radiated the spirit. Hopefully he'll get through to Drifter one day. Hna Brooks hugged all of them and then we went home to finish packing. Wow it's never been so hard to leave an area before. Spanish Fork is such a dream.

That night Sister Perez, my new companion and Sister Abraham drove up from Price to stay with us so they wouldn't have to drive so far in the morning for transfers Wednesday. They're great. At around 11:00 we got to bed. Sister Brooks and I wanted to have one last heart to heart and so she jumped into my bed and we just talked for a while. Dang, I'm going to miss her so much. We've both already cried a few times about being split up. Close to midnight, when we were too tired to think straight, she went back into her bed and we went to sleep.

Wednesday
Transfer day! We woke up early because she still had a few things to finish packing. Driving up to the Bell Tower Chapel in Provo with Sister Brooks was actually the longest saddest drive of all time. Wow. She has been such an incredible companion. She really is one of my best friends. I love her a ton. Going to miss her lots. Hanging out at the chapel on transfer day is always a blast. It's just cool to catch up with other missionaries and see where everyone is going.
After we said goodbye, Sis Perez and I went shopping and then went and unpacked. We went and did some contacting since the bishop wasn't at home. Sis Perez is such a great missionary!

Thursday
In the morning we started studying and then got a call from the elders asking if we could go and do service! We laid sod down for the entire front and backyard! Then we went home for 30 minutes and then went out and did service for our favorite family, the Baker's! I got to see sister Brooks again! I was so so happy to see her! I think I'm having withdrawals hahah! We stayed there until dinner and then went to dinner with the Varela's! We had flautas and rice..YUM! Afterwards we went and talked to Drifter, he has the coolest stories.

Friday
Service service service! We went and did service for drifter, then we went to a investigators , the Castillo family. We pulled their weeds in the backyard and got to talk to one of our investigators, Kevin. He has some funny stories.

Saturday
Hna Perez and I had to do weekly planning which takes a long time and most of the day. We went to one of the coolest families in the ward, the Priego family. Afterwards we went and contacted but no one answered.

Sunday
We had one of our investigators Gabi come to church. She's only 10 years old but she told us that she had a lot of fun and that she wants to go again:) It was testimony meeting so it's always awesome to hear everyone's elders in the church. It's such a spiritual builder. Afterwards we had a lot of miracles, with people we've been trying to contact for months. The Mesa family finally opened the door and we had an awesome talk about what hey enjoyed and what their religious beliefs are. They tried to invite us in for dinner but we had to go home.. sad! We'll just have to go back again:)

This week was busy! And another busy pday too! I'm sorry if this is sporadic but I'm kinda rushing.. love you guys!
