Week 9- A Devotional A Day Keeps Satan Away

Well, I learned Chilean chants, that my Texas pride is real, and one of my best friends is going to Copenhagen, Denmark for his mission!! This week has been great.

I went on my first exchange this week (we switch companions for 24 hours and teach in their area or we stay near our area), I went to Mapleton this time and we were able to find a new investigator and I got to talk to a return sister missionary that went to South Korea! We also went to the wrong apartment and the guy wasn't too happy to see missionary service at his doorstep hah. But afterwards we were able to have an amazing lesson and the spirit was so strong.

The next day (Thursday) hna Brooks and I were able to find someone new and he's only 11 years and at times I think he was teaching me about the gospel! He's amazing! But it doesn't stop there because later that night we were able to talk to a man named David, his story is amazing and I can't even imagine all thats he's been through but he knows that we were sent by angels to help him. What an amazing feeling that was and to top off the night we met Drifter, the landlord of the house David where is staying and he showed us his man cave (aka book room) and Coca-Cola room! He has over 27,000 books, he reads a book a day and can read about 1,400 words a minute. Woah.

We got to teach David again later in the week and we taught him about the Restoration. The Spirit was so strong, and I had it testified to me during that lesson that as I go through these weeks and I meet many different people. I learn who they are, their amazing stories and as I listen, the more it is shown to me how much God loves us all. We are all here for a reason. Sometimes there are moments where we feel alone and we feel like God isn't there. But when you can't stand anymore, kneel.. and pray to Him. In His time He will answer, we just have to be patient. The answer sometimes is in the place we least expect. That's why we have to study our scriptures, go to church and have faith in Him. You may find your answer as you study, listening to a talk, or maybe it's a "random" thought we have.

I love this gospel and the more I read and teach the more I know it is true.

I love you all and hope that everyday is a day to become closer to our Savior.

Hermana de Benito

44 For behold, it is as easy to give heed to the word of Christ, which will point to you a straight course to eternal bliss, as it was for our fathers to give heed to this compass, which would point unto them a straight course to the promised land.
45 And now I say, is there not a type in this thing? For just as surely as this director did bring our fathers, by following its course, to the promised land, shall the words of Christ, if we follow their course, carry us beyond this vale of sorrow into a far better land of promise.
46 O my son, do not let us be slothful because of the easiness of the way; for so was it with our fathers; for so was it prepared for them, that if they would look they might live; even so it is with us. The way is prepared, and if we will look we may live forever.
47 And now, my son, see that ye take care of these sacred things, yea, see that ye look to God and live. Go unto this people and declare the word, and be sober. My son, farewell.
